Application details
Application number :
P/2026/00580/TREE
Application type :
Works to Tree(s) in Conservation Area
Address :
394 Fulham Palace Road, London, SW6 6HU
Development type :
Development description :
T1 ??? Apple (Malus domestica) Height: approx. 7 m Lateral spread: approx. 6 m Proposed works: Fell to ground level. Justification: The tree is multi-stemmed from approximately 1.2 m with a severely decayed point of union and included bark. Extensive deadwood is present throughout the crown, indicating advanced physiological decline and a significantly increased risk of failure. The tree has been heavily colonised by ivy for a prolonged period, which has obscured defects and contributed to the deterioration of the stem wood, now showing signs of crumbling decay. The tree has outgrown the confines of the garden and results in substantial shading, adversely affecting the usability of the space. It is an ornamental apple tree that does not produce fruit and therefore offers limited functional benefit. Overall amenity value is low, further reduced by the tree not being visible from the public highway. In addition, a boundary fence is required to be installed in accordance with the lease plan as part of the sale of the flat. The tree is located directly within the required fence line, preventing compliant installation. Given the tree???s poor condition, low amenity value, and direct conflict with required boundary works, removal is considered justified.
